About Us
The Ireland India Business Association (IIBA) was founded in May 2008 to enhance and increase commercial links between Irish and Indian businesses.
As a member-driven non-profit organisation, the IIBA fosters knowledge-sharing and networking among Irish and Indian business communities. The association provides an online membership database and regular networking events, bringing together Irish and Indian businesses for the purpose of exploring opportunities and making contacts.
In promoting the expansion of trade and investment between Ireland and India, the IIBA fulfils the role of a quasi chamber of commerce.
To date our focus has been mainly on networking and knowledge sharing, with general programs such as Doing Business in India and specific industry programs focused on the BFSI sector. Our newsletter for members contains updates on the Indian economy, trade information and news of IIBA events. Members will be invited to meet with visiting trade groups from India as well as to participate in trade visits to India.
IIBA membership is open to public and private sector organisations ranging from large corporations and government agencies to small and medium enterprises as well as individual professionals and students. Membership benefits are substantial although membership fees are kept at affordable levels for each membership category.
Our members include successful Irish companies representing all facets of the business community including accountancy firms, bankers, consultants, distributors, exporters, high-tech companies, life science firms, legal advisors, manufacturers, marketing firms, trade specialists, venture capitalists, and various other sectors.
We are strongly supported by the Irish and Indian embassies and by our honorary patron, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw – Chairman and Managing Director of Biocon, one of India’s leading bio pharma companies.
We maintain close relationships with government agencies, the diplomatic corps and industry bodies and showcase the opportunities to the Irish business community through an active programme of events nationally.

The association provides a programme of seminars and networking events in the form of business briefings with guest speakers.
The IIBA are proactive throughout the year in promoting the importance of bilateral links between India and Ireland by their presence at various events including the recent visit to India of former president of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
